The Biologics Discovery, Target Protein Sciences group in Janssen R&D is looking for a hardworking and proficient scientist to drive protein expression and cell line generation efforts. We are a multifaceted Biologics Discovery organization with a diverse and focused team of scientists committed to bringing the next generation of biotherapeutic molecules to patients. We are looking for a highly motivated Scientist to drive internal and external protein expression and cell line generation efforts to support a robust biotherapeutics pipeline. The candidate will have experience in molecular biology, protein biochemistry and cell biology. Applicants having a demonstrated track record with membrane protein production and purification will be most desirable. The person should be able to work in a multi-team format in a fast-paced environment for supporting various programs in several different therapeutic areas. Importantly, the person will participate in internal and external collaborations and should have superior communication skills. Additional knowledge in biologics discovery, immunology, oncology, or any other human diseases will be plus. Prior industry experience would be advantageous but not necessary. Qualifications Required
Qualifications:
PhD Degree OR an MS degree with at least 5 years of relevant research experience Knowledge of expression construct designing and optimization, and expression platforms Experience with protein expression/purification ranging from soluble proteins, domains, fusion proteins to multi-protein complexes Understanding of analytical characterization and biophysical techniques to determine quality, conformation, and stability Experience with mammalian cell culture both adherent and suspension Desirable
Experience:
Experience with cell line and genome engineering techniques FLOW/FACS-based techniques Experience of generating DNA/RNA constructs and or other tools as antigen for supporting antibody discovery Knowledge of membrane protein extraction and preparation Experience in protein/antibody labeling and characterization such as in vitro and cell-based binding assays Exposure to external collaborations and CROs Good communication skills, with proven ability to work under timelines and problem-solving skills is plus Scientific software proficiency and data analysis skills
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Life SciencesEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
