Our client is currently recruiting for a Director, Research IT: Scientific Data Management. This position is located in Spring House, PA.
Director, Research IT: Scientific Data Management participates in strategic planning, business analysis, and utilization of informatics systems in the areas of scientific data capturing, reporting, analysis and visualization. Consults with research partners to shape demand and determine how to best support the research functions through the effective use of data and technology. This role leads a team of business analysts/research informatics focusing on scientific data management to enable better and faster scientific decision-making in research projects. Sets strategic direction on the informatics area of focus for the team. Leads cross functional IT initiatives and projects.
Responsibilities of this role include:
With thorough understanding of research processes and data flow, establishes and maintains the technical and scientific partnership with multiple scientific functions
Communicates effectively with key stakeholders
Manages a team of business analysts/informatics personnel
Sets strategic direction on the informatics area of focus for the team
Drives and directs operational and strategic activities by translating innovation and technically sound approaches to business application
Collaborates with other IT and business units to support existing applications and methods, and assess and identify new opportunities for data management and utilization to further drug discovery and development efforts
Conceives, designs, and leads implement ion of informatics solutions to effectively manage research data flow
Leads or sponsors highly visible, complex projects, programs or solutions that are critical to the business Develop the most effective use of allocated resources to advance the projects
Coordinates efforts of internal stakeholders to map business requirements into technical solution and deliver results, and ensure that applications meet customer requirements and exceed performance targets
Additional responsibilities include:
Addresses complex problems with broad implications for research, balancing the often competing needs of standardization and innovation
Ensures solutions are consistent with business objectives or business strategy
Makes decisions regarding resource alignment/dedication and prioritization (people resources, dollars/funding, project criticality) and communicates rationale back to the business
Contributes to the strategic planning process and long-term direction for Research IT and aligns plans between stakeholders
Contributes to budget development and monitors budget within area; Leads the formulation of innovative ideas and solutions on products, processes, and systems
Knowledge for this role should include:
Broad strategic vision of the company's future products, services, and strategies globally
Strong understanding of technology trends with a focus on innovative solutions/technology across projects and/or functions
Strong understanding of the business and its operating environment (e.g., trends, competitors, compliance landscape, and regulatory environment)
Understanding of resources and cost drivers for a franchise or business unit
Maintains an excellent knowledge of evolving informatics tools and techniques
Stays current on emerging scientific trends, processes and technology to bring new ideas to teams
Supervision responsibilities include:
Effectively supervises staff members to high levels of productivity, and improve the skills and knowledge of direct reports through mentorship and focused development activities
Provides guidance to staff members on project management and business analysis best practice
Leads the most complex, critical projects that may be matrixed, cross-functional, and/or global in nature Sets and monitors priorities, budget, timeline and resources for own work department/team/project Anticipates business needs to influence the development of solutions; maneuvers through a matrixed set of relationships, influencing direction and receiving input from various stakeholders
Manages strategic vendor relationship as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 15 years of related work experience OR an advanced degree with a minimum of 10 years of related work experience is required
PhD is preferred
Minimum of 10 years of increasingly complex organizational responsibilities is required
Minimum of 10 years of working experience with database/application development and/or business analysis is required
Pharmaceutical research industry experience is required
In-depth understanding of research processes and scientific information is required
Expert knowledge of scientific data management approaches and research applications development cycles are required
Knowledge of infrastructure requirements is preferred
Proven leadership and industrial experience in driving projects under tight timelines is required
Excellence in project leadership and resource management with strong track record of project delivery is required
Proven stakeholder relationship management skills are required, preferably in a complex organization
Ability to inspire, motivate and manage a team of scientific and technical specialists is required
Knowledge of SDLC is preferred
Knowledge of GxP/regulatory requirements is preferred
Candidate must be a self-starter with excellent people, leadership, analytical, and written/verbal communication skillsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
